Minutes of GH District PHRF-LO held at Bronte Harbour Yacht Club on April 17/07

Attendees:

Oakville Yacht Squadron: Dave Smith, Alison Norris.

  1. Call To Order: 19:00 Hours
  2. Initial Rating for Catalina 310
    Dave Smith presented data. Discussion resulted in a recommendation for a rating as follows:
    FS 153 NFS 171 (less new yacht adjustment of 6 seconds)
    Forms were signed and will be faxed to Diana Riley.
  3. Initial Rating for Beneteau 323
    Dave Smith presented data. Discussion resulted in a recommendation for a rating as follows:
    FS 135 NFS 153 (less new yacht adjustment of 6 seconds)
    Forms were signed and will be faxed to Diana Riley.
  4. Initial Rating for Tartan 3700 WK
    Alison Norris presented data. Discussion resulted in a recommendation for a rating as follows:
    FS 120 NFS 138 (less new yacht adjustment of 6 seconds)
    Forms were signed and will be faxed to Diana Riley.
  5. Initial Rating for C&C 40-2 WK
    Alison Norris presented data. Discussion resulted in a recommendation for a rating as follows:
    FS 99 NFS 117 (new yacht adjustment not required for this boat).
  6. Viking 33/34
    Alison Norris presented the manufacturer’s specification (Ontario Yachts) which shows that these boats are actually listed as                                                                                                 Viking 33/34 (not separate boats). Discussion resulted in the following recommendation:
    The Standard Boat Characteristics List should be corrected to reflect the Viking 33/34 manufacturer’s specification as follows:
    The “P” measurement should be corrected to reflect the manufacturer’s specification of 39.34 feet.                                                                                                                                   Currently shows Viking 33TM=33.91 and Viking 34=39.92.
    J=14.75 feet.

    LOA=33.6
    LWL=26
    DISP=8900
    DRAFT=6
    BEAM=9.77
    (Drawing will be faxed to Diana Riley).
    The racing statistics should be recalculated to combine data for Viking 33’s and 34’s. Then list as Viking 33/34.
    Tapestry: (Viking 33 - OYS) should be listed as a Viking 33/34 and a new certificate issued.
