Meeting was called to order at 7pm

Old Business – none

The purpose of this meeting was to review and approve 4 initial assigments

  1. The Bianchi Freedom 30

The assignment considered ratings of this boat in other areas, comparisons w other similar freedoms and their performance on the lake, and comparison with similar boats and their performance. All in attendance agreed on the final rating of SP168 with an ASP Flying of 183 and nfs of  SP173. The protect the fleet was used. The presentation was by Kelly Vore  at PYC

  1. Tartan 3000CB

This boat was assessed using comparisons of the C&C 32 and 34 which both have the deep keel and CB models. Considerations of the alterations of the center of gravity and the turbulence from the  flat shallow keel suggested a 9 second difference from the deep keel versions. Tim Breen questioned the lack of using the protect the fleet. Due to fairly well established rating for this and similar boats, it was agreed that the protect the fleet was not necessary. The final rating of FS 174 nfs 186 was agreed on by all in attendance. The presentation was by Herb Clark – SYC

  1. Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 SD

This boat is a basic cruising boat that goes up wind poorly and downwind poorly. However, the boat is good at reaching. The rating was mainly determined by calculated ratings as there is not much on which to go. Then the comparables were considered. All agreed on the rating of fs 108 and nfs 123. Tim Breen of RYC presented this boat.

  1. Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 SD

Similar to the 38.1, this boat is a basic cruising boat that goes up wind poorly and downwind poorly. However, the boat is good at reaching. The rating was mainly determined by calculated ratings as there is not much on which to go. Then the comparables were considered. This boat differed in style in that she has 2 wheels 1 rudder and the 38 has 2 wheels 2 rudders.  All agreed on the rating of fs 75 and nsf 90. This boat was also presented by Tim Breen of RYC.

Other new business- Regatta promotions.

The meeting was adjourned  at 7:54 pm
