The Basics

Lets start with the basics!

At the top of the screen you will see the following:

V.10.4.1 is the Version number for the "whole" worksheet.

It is important to ensure that you use the most recent version of the worksheet which will include the most up-to-date formulas                                                                                                                               for calculations and adjustments.

Rel "Date" is the date that the Standard Class List (SP List) was last updated.

It is also important to ensure that you use the most recent "Date" which will include an up-to-date list of all PHRF-LO classes.

Clear Sheet (Button on right)

After completing a worksheet you have the option to remove all entered data.

By clicking on the "Clear Sheet" button all entered values will be returned to their original state.

Line numbers are used throughout the workbook to help direct you to the correct "place" on the worksheet.

To begin with, you need to know that throughout the "Handicappers Worksheet" you will find that all boxes (cells) that are Green

are for entry purposes and all boxes (cells) that are Grey contain "lists" of items that you can choose from.

Owner Data

Owner data!

Here is where you will begin to enter all the relative information about the owner who is applying for a PHRF-LO handicap certificate.

Line 4 - Tells the worksheet "where" to look for the Class data for this application.
Selecting "YES", If you have completed the "Initial Assignment tab" for a New Class.
Selecting "No", is the default and the class data will be obtained from the current PHRF-LO SP List.

Line 5 - Status - is used to identify the type of application you are applying for. This helps the admin office when processing your request.

Line 5 - Certificate # - If known, you can record the certificate number of the owner who is requesting a revised certificate. Otherwise, it will be looked up or assigned.

Line 6 through 11 - Owner Information - please complete all the cells as appropriate.

Boat Data

Boat data!

Here is where you will begin to enter all the relative information regarding the boat that the owner would like to record on his/her certificate.

Line 13 - The current "Boat Name" should be entered.
Also any previous name it may have had "if known". This helps the admin office check to see if the boat is already in the database.

Line 14 - The sail number is required to help identify if the boat is already in the database.

Line 15 - Is a drop down list of Classes either from the "Initial Assignment tab" or the PHRF-LO SP List, depending on what you answered on "line 4".

Line 16 - Please identify the "Keel type" of the boat. We use this to ensure that the correct class has been identified.

Line 17 - Please identify the type of rating the owner is applying for.

Boat Sails etc!

Now you can begin entering all the specifics about the boat that is being applied for.

Start by selecting the measurement type: toggle on either Feet or Meters.
(the equivalent measurement will be displayed below each of the entries made)

The Green Cells allow for entering the sail sizes etc.

The Grey Cells offer you a list of choices for that particular specification.
Click on the Grey Cell and you will see a small "Arrow" which when clicked will show you a list of available choices.

The Yellow Cells will populate as you enter data into the Green and Grey cells.

As you complete the form you will note that all the sizes, %, codes and adjustments are being calculated for you. No need to do anything                                                                                                            but watch the final handicap number be calculated for you.

Errors and omittions!

If you miss anything or have made an error, there is a built in "Check list" on the bottom of the form.

Once all the notices have been cleared from lines 38 through 46 you can be assured you have addressed most issues.

Other Information

Other stuff to know!

At the top of the form in Columns K through N you will see some other information.

This is "extra" information that you can refer to, like:

Standard Boat Information
Lists out the standard specifications that are currently listed for the boat class. This information is pulled from either the                                                                                                                                    "Initial Assignment Tab" or from the current PHRF-LO Class SP List.

Sail size calculations
Shows the relevant maximum sizes and calculations for the sails that were entered.

One Design Specifications

If the class requested is one of our "Class Association" recognized ratings, then this box will contain the recorded values for sails etc.

Pressing on the button "Click here to populate ODR specs", all stored measurements will be transferred to the application form and used to calculate the ASP.
