Before you Apply

1. Your boat must be a PHRF-Lake Ontario handicapped class.

Handicaps from other PHRF organizations do not apply. If you are unsure if your boat has been handicapped by PHRF-LO you can check on-line via our Class Query.

If your boat class is not listed, you will have to get it handicapped prior to getting a certificate. Please contact your club handicapper, event organizer or our office to find out how.

New class handicaps are established by the District handicappers for your PHRF-LO region and are generally set at a meeting. Meetings are held at the discretion of the District Chief Handicapper and based on need. Therefore, please allow sufficient time for processing your request.

2. Having a PHRF-LO certificate does not imply eligibility to race.

It is at the discretion of each event organizer as to your eligibility to race. Please contact them for confirmation.

3. Please read the Owners Quick Guide.

This guide is a condensed version of the "Handicappers Manual" and will help you "the owner" understand the process for obtaining a racing certificate.
